Tiddlywinks is a hard hike on an out-and-back route in the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest in Oregon. The trail starts at about 5,389 feet and reaches a high point of 5,554 feet, with a total climb of 2,532 feet over the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 3 miles in, where the grade reaches 20%. The trail is open year-round and takes about six hours to complete. It is managed by the Forest Service and has a natural surface. Bikes are allowed, but horses are not. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Sunriver weather station run from highs of 65°F in May to 76°F in September. That station sits about 1,400 feet lower than the trail's high point, so expect cooler temperatures on the ridge. Mountain bikers will find the Tiddly Winks and Funner trails about 0.1 mile away, and the Outer Skate Loop for cross-country skiing is also close by. Climbers can reach Cougar Buttress and Main Area, both about 3.8 miles out, and Three Creeks Lake Campground lies roughly 9 miles away.
