Shellrock Lake Trail #700 is a 2-mile point-to-point hike in Oregon's Roaring River Wilderness, within the Clackamas River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail rises from about 4,045 feet to about 4,686 feet, with a total gain of 671 feet. The route is rated easy, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.5 miles in, where the grade reaches 24%. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Government Camp show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. The trail is close to two other hikes, Grouse Point and Serene Lake, each about 0.1 mile away. Hideaway Lake campground sits about 1.5 miles off, and Shellrock Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 2.7 miles away.
