Rogue Gorge is an easy out-and-back hike in the High Cascades Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests in southern Oregon. The trail is about 6.6 miles long, with a low of about 3,205 feet and a high of about 3,327 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced, open to horses and bikes, and not accessible. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs near 71°F in May to 70°F in October, with the driest stretch from June through September. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher parts run cooler. The trail is open from June 15 through October 1. Union Creek Campground and Union Creek Trail lie about 0.3 miles away, and Farewell Bend Campground is about 0.6 miles off. The Rogue River is about 6 miles away for paddling.
