BERT CREEK SNOMO is a moderate out-and-back hike in the High Cascades Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests in southern Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 8 miles long, with a total climb of about 1,300 feet from the low point at 4,531 feet to the high point at 4,642 feet. The climb is steady, and the steepest stretch comes at about 3.7 miles, with a grade of about 7 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 79°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the upper 30s and regular snow days. Several other hikes sit close by, including National Creek Falls at about 1.5 miles and Wizard Creek SNOMO at about 1.6 miles. The Rogue River, about 2.7 miles away, offers canoeing, and Farewell Bend Campground is about 8 miles off.
