Larch Lane is a short ski touring route in Oregon's Mt. Hood National Forest, within the Hood River Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land. The climb is an out-and-back of about a quarter mile, with a high point of 4,064 feet and a low of 4,044 feet, so it is an easy, nearly flat outing. July and August are the mildest months, with typical highs around 70°F and only about four wet days a month, according to averages from a nearby weather station at Government Camp. Winter is cold and wet, with typical highs in the mid-30s and 20 wet days a month from December through March. Meadow Trail and Hood River Road, both cross-country ski routes, sit about a tenth of a mile away. For camping, Badger Lake is about 2.7 miles off and Bonney Meadows about 3.7 miles.
