Pine Knob Loop is a short, easy hike in the Chemult Ranger District of the Fremont-Winema National Forest in southern Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 0.56 miles long and is an out-and-back route, with a total climb of about 121 feet from the low point at 4,747 feet to the high at 4,799 feet. The steepest stretch comes early in the route, at about 0.14 miles in, with a grade of about 6 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Chemult weather station show July highs around 83°F with lows near 39°F and only about three wet days in the month. Winter is much colder, with January highs around 37°F and lows near 15°F. Several other trails sit close by. Jill's Hill and Twisted Pine are cross-country ski routes within half a mile, and the Outer Runner Loop and Play Loop hikes are each about 0.7 miles away. For an overnight stay, Corral Springs Campground is about 1.6 miles off.
