Maidu Lake Trail is a 5.6-mile out-and-back hike in the Chemult Ranger District of the Fremont-Winema National Forest in southern Oregon. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is rated moderate. The route gains about 68 feet in elevation over the round trip, with the steepest stretch at roughly 1.7 miles in. The climb is small in scale, with the low point at about 5,637 feet and the high point at about 5,687 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Chemult show July highs around 83°F and only about three wet days in the month. That station sits roughly 900 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures up high run cooler. The trail starts close to Miller Lake, about 0.1 mile away, and Miller Lake Trail is about 1.3 miles off. Digit Point Campground is about 1.2 miles away, and Corral Springs Campground is about 6.6 miles away.
