Ocean View Trail is an easy, short hike in Oregon, about 1.7 miles from the community of Holiday Beach. The route is an out-and-back that covers about 0.68 miles, with a steady climb to a high point of 470 feet. The trail gains about 206 feet over the course of the round trip, with the steepest stretch coming at around 0.24 miles, where the grade reaches about 14 percent. The trail starts at about 452 feet and ends at a similar elevation. Late summer into early fall is the warmest stretch, with typical highs near 64 to 66°F from July through September, based on averages from a nearby weather station at Newport. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. The trip takes about half an hour to complete. Several other trails sit close by. Salal Trail is about 0.3 miles away, and Gentle Ben Trail and Simple Jack Trail are both within about 1.6 miles. Beaver Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 4 miles off.
