Peak Hike is a short, out-and-back ski touring route in Oregon's Mt. Hood National Forest, within the Zigzag Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is about 0.4 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 196 feet from a low point of 4,955 feet to a high of 5,060 feet. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.06 miles in, where the grade reaches 8 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Government Camp show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. The Pro Line Trail and Sunrise Trail both start within a third of a mile. Kiwanis Camp Crag, a climbing area, is about 2 miles away, and Still Creek campground is about 2.7 miles off.
