Maple Dell is a 4.2-mile out-and-back hike in the Siskiyou Mountains Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests in southern Oregon. The trail rises from about 3,500 feet to nearly 4,900 feet, with a total elevation gain of 2,224 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 1.7 miles in, where the grade reaches 36 percent. The route is rated moderate, and the trail surface is natural. Bikes and horses are both allowed, and the trail is not accessible. The trip takes about 2.5 hours, and the trail is open year-round. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Howard Prairie Dam show July and August highs around 79°F with only two or three wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days. Nearby, Little Acorn Woman is about 1.8 miles away and Summit Lake Trail #926 is about 2.2 miles away. Sq Lakes campground and Acorn Woman Peak Lookout are both within about 3 miles.
