Duodenem is a 5.5-mile out-and-back hike in the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Oregon's Deschutes National Forest. The route climbs from about 4,944 feet to a high point of 5,176 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,239 feet for the round trip, and the steepest stretch comes at about 2.6 miles in. The trail is rated moderate. It's a natural-surface route open to bikes and is managed by the Forest Service. Horses are not allowed. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sunriver run from highs around 72°F in June to about 76°F in September. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet below the hike's top, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. The hike takes about 2.5 hours. Royal Flush lies about a mile away, and Tiddly Winks (Lower) and Afternoon Delight are within 2 miles. Climbers can head to Widgi Creek, about 6 miles off.
