Lake Creek is an out-and-back hike in the Sisters Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 8.8 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 1,296 feet, and it is rated hard. The route starts at a low point of about 2,980 feet and climbs to a high of about 3,458 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 0.8 miles in, where the grade reaches 10%. The trail is on natural surface, and both horses and bikes are allowed. That makes it a versatile option for riders and pack animals. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Santiam Junction weather station, at a similar elevation, show July and August highs around 76°F with lows near 42°F. Winter is cold, with January highs around 38°F and lows near 24°F. Suttle Tie and Suttle Lake Loop are both within a third of a mile, and Blue Bay campground and Suttle Lake are about half a mile away.
