Camp Sherman "H" is a moderate hike of about 3.5 miles on gravel in the Sisters Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a high point of about 2,999 feet and a low of about 2,934 feet, so the climb is only about 53 feet one way. The steepest stretch comes early, with a grade of about 8% at the start. Bikes are allowed on this trail, but horses are not. The route is short and low-lying, so it works well as a quick outing or a link between other trails in the area. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Sisters weather station run to highs around 74°F in June and 86°F in July, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. The West Metolius River Trail and East Metolius River Trail both lie within a mile, and Black Butte Trail #4026 is about a mile away. Riverside Campground is about a mile off for an overnight stay.
