Suttle Lake Loop is a 3.1-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Deschutes National Forest, within the Sisters Ranger District. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and rated moderate, with a total elevation gain of 130 feet from a low point of 3,444 feet to a high of 3,520 feet. The route's gentle climb makes it a short walk for a longer outing. The steepest stretch comes about a mile in, at roughly 10%, and the natural surface is suitable for hikers on foot and by bike. Horses are not allowed on this trail. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Santiam Junction, at a similar elevation, put July and August highs around 76°F with lows near 42°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. The trail is open from June 1 through October 31. Several other destinations sit close by. Suttle Tie and Lake Creek are both within a third of a mile, Blue Bay campground is about 0.3 miles away, and Suttle Lake offers fishing about 0.6 miles off.
