Inner Skate Loop is a short, easy loop hike in the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 0.8 miles long, with a total climb of about 62 feet, and it sits at roughly 5,350 feet. The route is flat for most of the way, with the steepest stretch at about 0.5 miles, where the grade reaches about 5%. The loop starts and ends at nearly the same elevation, so it works well as a quick outing or a warm-up before heading to other nearby spots. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the Sunriver weather station, about 8.5 miles away, show July highs around 84°F with lows near 41°F. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the loop run cooler. Several other destinations are close by. The 3 Psi cross-country ski area and the Tiddly Winks (Upper) mountain biking route are each about 0.1 mile away, and the Tiddlywinks hike is about 0.2 mile off. Cougar Buttress, a climbing area, is about 4 miles away.
