Incense Cedar Loop Snomo is a hard out-and-back hike in the Diamond Lake Ranger District of Oregon's Umpqua National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The route is 11.5 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 2,931 feet, and it reaches a high point of 5,180 feet. The climb is steady, and the steepest stretch comes at about 2.4 miles in, where the grade reaches 17 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 79°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the upper 30s and regular snow days from December through February. That station sits roughly 1,100 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The hike takes about 5.5 hours. The trail starts at an elevation of about 4,600 feet, and the low point on the route is around 4,450 feet. The closest neighbors are Skookum Creek Connect Snomo, about a mile away, and the Rogue Umpqua Divide and Fish Creek Snomo, each about 1.6 miles off. For an overnight base, Stockdale Pond campground is about 9 miles away.
