Rocky Rim is a 11.3-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Umpqua National Forest, within the Tiller Ranger District. The trail climbs from about 4,350 feet to 6,044 feet, a total gain of 4,410 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 1.2 miles in, where the grade reaches 46%. It is a hard route, and it is not an accessible trail. The trail is natural-surface, and horses are allowed. Bikes are not. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trip is open year-round, with about six hours estimated for the round trip. Summer is the most comfortable season. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Crater Lake show July and August highs around 69°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter highs sit near freezing. Beaver Swamp and Fish Lake are both within a mile. Camp Comfort Campground and the Rabbit Ears (Rogue) climbing area are within about 6.6 miles.
