Gumjuwac Trail is a 4.5-mile point-to-point hike in Oregon's Mt. Hood National Forest, within the Hood River Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route rises from about 3,558 feet to a high point of 5,223 feet, with a total elevation gain of 2,964 feet. The trail is rated easy, and horses are allowed. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. That station sits roughly 1,200 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures up top run cooler. The Divide Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the East Fork hike is about 1.2 miles off. Badger Lake and Nottingham campgrounds are both within about 2.5 miles.
