Clear Creek is a moderate out-and-back hike of about 3.8 miles in Oregon's Mt. Hood National Forest, within the Barlow Ranger District. It starts at an elevation of about 3,179 feet and reaches a high point of about 3,214 feet, with an elevation gain of roughly 254 feet, so it's a short climb rather than a steep one. The trail is a natural-surface route, and the Forest Service manages the surrounding land. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Government Camp show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on 20 or more days. Several trails sit close by. Camas is just 0.1 mile away, and McCubbins DB Trail #576C and Camas Trail #490 are each within a mile. For an overnight base, Bear Springs Campground and Keeps Mill are both about 2.1 miles from the route.
