Camp Sherman is a Forest Service campground in Oregon's Sisters Ranger District of the Deschutes National Forest, about 13 miles from the town of Sisters. It's a compact base for exploring the trails and rivers of this part of the forest, with several other campsites and routes within a mile. The site is simple and functional, with vault toilets as its main amenity. A fee is charged for camping here. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sisters show July highs around 86°F with lows near 43°F, and September highs around 76°F. Winter is cold, with January highs averaging about 41°F. The West Metolius River Trail starts just 0.3 miles away, and Allingham campground and Riverside Campground are both within a mile. The Metolius River offers river fishing about 4.7 miles off.
