Cache Meadow is an easy, 2.5-mile out-and-back hike in the Clackamas River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is natural-surfaced and not accessible. The route starts at about 4,170 feet and climbs to about 4,400 feet, with the steepest stretch around 1.2 miles in at a 10% grade. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. Shell Rock Lake and Cottonwood Meadows are both within about 2 miles. Hideaway Lake campground is about 2.4 miles away, and Shellrock Creek offers canoeing about 3.9 miles off.
