Bonney Meadows Trail #471 is a moderate out-and-back hike in Oregon's Mt. Hood National Forest, within the Hood River Ranger District. The trail is about 1.47 miles long, and the round trip covers roughly 2.9 miles with a total elevation gain of 2,012 feet. The high point is 3,979 feet, and the low point is 3,105 feet, so the climb is a significant one for a short route. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station, at nearly the same elevation, show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. The trip takes about two hours. Catalpa Lake lies just 0.1 mile away, and Barlow Crossing and Barlow Creek campgrounds are both within about a mile and a half. Frog Lake Butte Trail #484 is about 1.6 miles off.
