Baneberry is a short, easy hike in the Lookout Mountain Ranger District of Ochoco National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 1.6 miles long and rises roughly 188 feet from its low point of 5,760 feet to a high of 5,896 feet, making it a gentle out-and-back with a total climb of about 517 feet. The route is natural-surfaced and open to bikes, so it works for hikers and riders alike. The Forest Service lists the open season as June through October, and the trip takes about an hour. Several other trails start right next to it, including Lookout Mountain Trail and Mother Lode Mine Trail #808A, each about 0.1 mile away. For an overnight stay, Ochoco Forest Camp is about 5 miles off, and Biggs Springs is about 7 miles away.
