Alice in Wonderland is a short, easy hike in southern Oregon, about 1.6 miles from Ashland. The route is an out-and-back of roughly 0.66 miles, with a total climb of about 90 feet. The trail starts at around 3,090 feet and reaches a high point of about 3,153 feet before returning to the starting elevation. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.06 miles from the start, where the grade reaches about 8 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Ashland show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 81°F, while July and August average in the upper 80s. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the hike run cooler. The Red Queen and Jabberwocky hikes both start about 0.2 miles away, and the White Rabbit (Ped and Uphill Bike) is about 0.3 miles off. For a longer outing, Mt Ashland campground is about 6.6 miles away.
