Snake Jam Boulder is a bouldering area in North Carolina, about 1.4 miles from the town of Dixon. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Old Folks Home, Decepticon Boulder and Denominator all about 0.1 mile away. The name comes from the Snake Jam route, a V3 boulder problem on the site. The area has five bouldering routes, all rated from V2 to V6+. The easiest is Rattler at V2, and the hardest is Venom Direct at V6+. Tyrannosaurus Snake, a V4, was first climbed by Soren Degeneffe and Evan McClure. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Gastonia run to highs around 74°F in April and October, while July highs average about 91°F. The Ridgeline Trail is about 0.9 mile away, and the Clarks Creek Trail is about 2.3 miles away across the state line in South Carolina. Paddlers can reach South Fork Crowders Creek, about 6.3 miles off.
