Y-Axis Boulder is a bouldering area in North Carolina, about 1.3 miles from the town of Dixon. It sits among a cluster of other bouldering spots, with Hell Boulder, Dixon School Boulders and Old Folks Home all about 0.1 mile away. The area has eight boulder problems, all rated between V0- and V3+. The Y-Axis route is the namesake of the area, and it is rated V1-. The X-Axis route is the hardest, at V3+, and was first climbed by Adam Stewart on January 6, 2019. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Gastonia show October highs around 74°F with lows near 51°F, and April is similar at about 74°F by day and 50°F at night. Summer is hot, with July highs averaging about 91°F. For a change from bouldering, the Ridgeline Trail is about a mile away, and the Clarks Creek Trail is roughly 2.2 miles off. Paddlers can head to South Fork Crowders Creek, about 6.4 miles away.
