Dixon School Boulders is a bouldering area in North Carolina, about 1.4 miles from the town of Dixon. It sits among a cluster of other bouldering spots, with Y-Axis Boulder and Hell Boulder each about 0.1 mile away and Old Folks Home about 0.2 mile off. The area is a compact, close-together set of boulders rather than a single route, and it works well as a short stop for climbers who want to try several problems in one visit. The climbing here is all bouldering, with 54 routes spread across the boulders. The grades run from V0- up to V8, with the median around V2. Some of the named routes include Franken Berry (V0-), Fruity Yummy Mummy (V1-2), Eye Sockets (V3) and The Leaning Tower (V8). The boulders are close enough together that it's easy to move from one to another. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Gastonia show October highs around 74°F with lows near 51°F, and April is similar at about 74°F by day and 50°F at night. Summer is hot, with July highs averaging about 91°F. For a change from bouldering, the Ridgeline Trail is about 1.1 mile away, and the Clarks Creek Trail is about 2.2 miles off.
