Silvermine Road is a cross-country skiing route in Harriman State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is short, about 0.6 miles out and back, and sits at a low point of about 650 feet with a high of about 670 feet. The route is essentially flat, with a total climb and descent of about 50 feet each, and the steepest section comes early on, around 4% grade. Winter is the season for skiing here. Typical averages from the nearby West Point weather station, about 8 miles away, show January highs around 36°F and lows near 21°F, with a few snow days each month from December through March. Spring warms to about 72°F highs in May, but snow is gone by April. Several other routes lie within about a mile and a half, including the Anthony Wayne Trail and the Horn Hill Loop for more skiing. Climbers can find Harriman State Park's climbing area about 6 miles away, and Moodna Creek offers canoeing about 9 miles out.
