Horn Hill Loop is a short cross-country ski route in Harriman State Park, New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits within Harriman State Park and also lies along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, so it makes an easy addition to a visit to the park or a trip on the long-distance trail. The loop is an out-and-back about half a mile long, with a total climb of 88 feet and a total descent of 88 feet. It starts and ends at about 626 feet, peaks at about 702 feet, and the steepest stretch is a 7% grade about 0.06 miles from the start. Winter is the natural season for this route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at West Point, NY, put January highs around 36°F and lows around 21°F, with a few snow days each month from December through February. Temperatures up here run cooler than the station's figures, which are taken at a lower elevation. Nearby, the North-South Connector and the Horns Route both lie about 0.4 miles away, and Beechy Bottom Road is about 0.6 miles off. Climbers can find Harriman State Park's climbing area about 5.4 miles away.
