Underking / Sapokanikan is a rock climbing area in Harriman State Park in New York, on land managed by the state park system. It sits among a tight cluster of other climbing areas, so it fits easily into a day spent moving between crags. Fall makes a comfortable choice for a visit, with typical September highs around 76°F and lows near 56°F at a nearby weather station in Wanaque, New Jersey. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the crag, so temperatures here can run a little cooler. Several neighboring climbing areas, including Shakedown Street and Nechtanc, lie about 0.1 mile away, as does the White Diamond Trail. The 7 Hills Trail is roughly 0.7 mile off for anyone who wants to add a hike.
