Tulpehocken is a climbing area in Harriman State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among several other climbing areas and trails, with Scheyichbi, Manayunk and Nechtanc all about 0.1 mile away, and the White Diamond Trail also within a tenth of a mile. The climbing here is all sport, with 12 routes spread across the area. The grades run from 5.5 to 5.9+, with the median around 5.7+. Day of Discovery is the easiest at 5.5, and St Martins is the hardest at 5.9+. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, with July peaking near 84°F. Beyond the climbing, the 7 Hills Trail and the Seven Hills hike are both within a mile. Across the state line in New Jersey, the Ramapo River offers fishing about 4 miles away.
