Shakedown Street is a bouldering area in Harriman State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among several other climbing spots, with Underking / Sapokanikan and m. Picatinny just 0.1 mile away, and Nechtanc at the same distance. The White Diamond Trail is also about 0.1 mile off, so the area works well as a cluster of climbing and hiking. The climbing here is all bouldering, with three routes listed: Splendid at V6, Cash or Credit at V7 and Magnificence at V10. The grades run from V6 to V10, so the area suits climbers looking for a range of bouldering challenges. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, with July peaking near 84°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the park, so temperatures on the rock may run slightly cooler. Beyond the climbing, the 7 Hills Trail is about 0.7 mile away. Across the state line in New Jersey, the Ramapo River offers fishing about 4 miles from the park.
