Moxham Mountain is a climbing area in the Vanderwhacker Mountain Wild Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits among a cluster of trails and climbing spots, with the Moxham Mountain Trail about 1.4 miles away and the Raymond Brook Ski Trail and Rabbit Pond Ski Trail each about 3.1 miles off. The climbing here is a small, compact set of five routes, with three of them done on traditional gear and two on mixed routes. The grades run from 5.5 to 5.8-, with Yam Jam at 5.7 and Serenity Prayer at 5.8- as the most notable. The area is best suited for climbers who want a short outing with a mix of styles. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Indian Lake show July highs around 75°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. That station sits about 420 feet lower than the mountain, so temperatures on the rock run a little cooler.
