The Loop is a bouldering area in Harriman State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among several other climbing areas, including D J E A, Snake Hole Left and Army Rampart, all within about a tenth of a mile. The White Diamond Trail starts about 0.2 miles away. The climbing here is all bouldering, with seven routes ranging from V1-2 to V6. The easiest are Smoke 'em If You Got 'em and Army Strong, and the hardest is Cyclone. The median grade is V4-5. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, with July peaking near 84°F. Hikers can also reach the 7 Hills Trail within a mile. Across the state line in New Jersey, the Ramapo River offers fishing about 4 miles away.
