Strategic Air Command is a bouldering area in Harriman State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among several other climbing areas, including History of Flight: Lower tier, Alexander Hamilton and Army Rampart, all about 0.1 mile away, and the White Diamond Trail, also about 0.1 mile off. The climbing here is all bouldering, with five routes ranging from V3-4 to V6. Stratofortress and Superfortress are the easiest, and Stratofortress Direct and The Nuclear Option are the hardest, with the latter's first ascent by Max O'Connell in November 2021. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, with July peaking near 84°F. Nearby, the 7 Hills Trail and Seven Hills hikes are within a mile. Across the state line in New Jersey, the Ramapo River offers fishing about 4 miles away.
