L. Cuckoo's Nest and the Crevice is a climbing area in Minnewaska State Park Preserve in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with several named areas within about a tenth of a mile, including m. Crevice right, and Psycho Wall, k. Oops Wall and Peterskill. The routes here run from about 5.8 to 5.11a on the YDS scale, with mixed and sport styles. Cuckoo's Arete is the easiest at 5.8, and The Land of the Lost is the hardest at 5.11a. The Ripper and 1-800-Stick-It Arete are both 5.10a. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from the nearby Mohonk Lake weather station show July highs around 83°F and lows near 64°F, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days from December through February.
