Keene Region is a climbing area in New York, about 1.7 miles from the town of Keene. It sits among a cluster of climbing and hiking destinations, with Owls Head Mountain just over a mile away and Pitchoff Chimney Cliff about 2.7 miles off. The area offers a range of climbing styles, with 10 routes in total. Six are trad, three are mixed and one is sport. Grades run from 5.2 up to 5.11b, with the hardest route being Fermi's Paradox at 5.11b. Lower Dome is the easiest, at 5.2. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Lake Placid show July highs around 74°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s.
