R Trail is a short, moderate mountain biking route in the Town of Yorktown Parkland, on city-managed land in New York. The trail is an out-and-back, about half a mile long, with a total climb of about 100 feet. It starts at roughly 568 feet and reaches a high point of about 611 feet, with the steepest stretch coming about a fifth of the way in at a 6% grade. The most comfortable months for riding are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Shrub Oak run from highs around 71°F in May to about 75°F in September, with July the warmest at about 84°F. Several other trails sit within a tenth of a mile, including G Trail, B Trail and O Trail. For climbing, Rocky Glen Pond and Blue Mountain Park are both about 5.6 miles away.
