Y Trail

Y Trail is a short, easy mountain biking route in the Town of Yorktown Parkland, on city-managed land in New York. The trail is about a quarter mile from Yorktown, and the whole out-and-back trip is roughly half a mile long, with a total climb of about 117 feet. The route is steady and low-key, with the steepest stretch at about 5% grade near the 0.18-mile mark. The high point is about 588 feet, and the low point is about 522 feet, so the trail works well as a quick ride or a warm-up before heading to other nearby trails. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Shrub Oak show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 75°F, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. G Trail and W Trail are both mountain biking routes about 0.1 mile away, and B Trail is a hike at the same distance. For climbing, Rocky Glen Pond is about 5.5 miles off.
