The Hudson Valley Greenway Trail from Elmsford to New Castle is a 9.8-mile point-to-point route in New York, starting in Elmsford and ending in New Castle. It is a moderate hike with a total elevation gain of 198 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 1.2 miles in, where the grade reaches 9 percent. The trail runs from an elevation of 183 feet to a high of 317 feet. Bikes are allowed on this section, so it works for both hikers and riders. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Dobbs Ferry-Ardsley weather station show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with July the warmest month at about 86°F. Several other trails sit close by. The Tarrytown Lakes Trail System is under a mile away, and the Blue Trail and Orange Trail are each within about a mile and a half. For climbing, V.E. Macy Park is about 2 miles off.
