Red Loop is an easy, short out-and-back hike in V Everit Macy County Park in New York, on county-managed land. The route is less than a mile long, and the climb up to the high point of about 423 feet is gentle, with a total elevation gain of about 268 feet over the course of the loop. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Dobbs Ferry run from highs around 73°F in May to about 77°F in September, with July peaking near 86°F. The loop makes an easy addition to a day spent in the park. Hermit's Grave Trail and the V.E. Macy Park climbing area are both about 0.2 miles away, and the Yellow Trail is about 0.4 miles off. The Old Croton Aqueduct Trail for mountain biking is just over a mile away.
