East River Trail is a 3.1-mile point-to-point hike in New York, about 2.8 miles from the town of Saint Huberts. The route gains 575 feet in elevation, from a starting point around 1,915 feet to a high point of 1,968 feet, and the climb is rated easy. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Lake Placid show July highs around 74°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. The trail is a short outing, and the trip is estimated to take about 1.5 hours. Bikes and horses are not allowed. Several other trails sit close by. Gill Brook Cutoff Trail is 0.8 miles away, and Lost Lookout Trail and Gill Brook Trail are each about 0.9 miles off. Climbers can head to Noonmark Mountain, roughly 1.4 miles away.
