Vista Trail (259) is an easy out-and-back hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about a mile long, with a total elevation gain of about 200 feet, and it starts and ends at roughly 7,376 feet, reaching a high point of about 7,543 feet. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station, which sits a few hundred feet lower, show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with lows in the low to mid 40s.
