Southwick Trail is a short, easy hike in northern New Mexico, about 0.8 miles from the town of Cañoncito. The trail is an out-and-back route of roughly 0.9 miles, with a one-way climb of about 180 feet from a low point of 6,922 feet to a high of 7,110 feet. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, while winter highs there sit in the low to mid 40s. Several other trails start close by. Pajarito Trail is about 0.1 mile away, and Oak Spur Trail and Dove Trail are each about 0.2 mile off. Climbers can find Ranger Station Wall about 3.8 miles away.
