Silver Creek Road is an out-and-back hike of about 8.3 miles in the Black Range Ranger District of Gila National Forest in southwest New Mexico. It climbs from a low point of about 6,850 feet to a high of about 9,114 feet, with a total elevation gain of about 2,250 feet. The Forest Service manages the land. The route is rated moderate, and the full trip covers roughly 4.16 miles one way. The climb is a steady ascent, and the higher you go, the more you'll see of the surrounding peaks. The road itself makes an easy starting point for planning the day. Several other trails lie within a few miles of the route. The Cdt Jov and Scenic Trail are both about 1.2 miles away, and the Black Range Crest is about 1.6 miles off. Iron Creek Campground, about 1.9 miles away, offers a place to stay.
