Gravel Pit is an easy out-and-back hike of about 1.2 miles on natural-surfaced trail in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest, in New Mexico. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is rated easy, with a total elevation gain of about 85 feet from a low point of about 10,300 feet to a high of about 10,400 feet. The trail is open from April 1 to November 30. Bikes are allowed, so it works for a ride as well as a walk. Several other destinations sit close by. Service Road 488, the Rocky Point Trail and the Crest hike are each about 0.1 mile away, and the TWA Canyon climbing area is about half a mile off.
