Chamisoso Trail is a short, easy hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The route is just 0.23 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 82 feet, so it's a quick outing that fits easily into a longer day on the trail network around here. The trail starts at a low point of about 6,840 feet and climbs to a high of about 6,956 feet. That makes it a gentle walk rather than a climb, and it works well as a warm-up or a break between longer hikes in the district. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from the Sandia Park weather station, about 10 miles away, show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with lows in the low 40s. Several other trails sit close by. Delberts is about 0.2 miles away, and More Cowbell is about half a mile off. The Cedro 2-Track Rd (Fr 13) and Cedro Singletrack Trail are both about 0.7 miles away.
