Chamisoso is a moderate out-and-back hike of about 5.3 miles in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises from a low point of about 6,556 feet to a high of roughly 6,963 feet, with a total elevation gain of about 376 feet. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Sandia Park run from highs around 73°F and lows near 41°F in May to highs around 77°F and lows near 46°F in September, while winter highs sit in the low to mid 40s. Several other routes start close by. Cedro Creek Trail and Powerline are each about 0.4 miles away, and the Ranger Station Wall climbing area is about 1.3 miles off.
