Chamisoso Canyon Road is a moderate out-and-back hike of about 8 miles in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico. The route gains about 436 feet of elevation over the course of the trip, taking you from a low point of 6,623 feet to a high of 7,124 feet. The most comfortable stretch for a visit is late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Sandia Park, at a similar elevation, show highs around 73°F in May and 77°F in September, while winter months bring highs in the low 40s and lows below freezing. Several other trails sit within a mile of the road. Cedro 2-Track Rd (Fr 13) is just 0.2 miles away, and the Chamisoso Trail and Delberts are each about 0.8 miles off. Climbers can find the Ranger Station Wall roughly 2.7 miles away.
