Bill Spring is an easy out-and-back hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 2 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 474 feet, taking you from a low point of about 7,380 feet to a high of about 7,860 feet. The trail is open from April through November. It is a natural-surface route, and bikes are allowed. It is not an accessible trail. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station, which sits about 830 feet lower than the trail's high point, show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with lows in the 40s. Several other hikes start close by, including Doc Long, Old Faulty Trail and Sulphur, all within about a quarter mile. Climbers can find Pino Wall about 3 miles away.
